Exercise Book Rules
- When writing in your exercise book, you will be expected to take care and produce neat, thoughtful work:
- Listen to instructions carefully and think before you write.
- Take pride in the appearance of your work.
- Write in blue or black pen, and draw in pencil unless told otherwise.
- Write the date in full on the top line of a new page.
- Use a ruler to underline dates and titles and when drawing tables.
- Give each piece of work an appropriate title which describes its contents.
- Use the full width of your exercise book, excluding the margin.
- Take care over spelling, punctuation and grammar. Dictionaries are available for you to use.
- Participate and experiment without fear of failure.
- Mind your manners, be respectful and listen to the people around you.
- Use your initiative.
- Always bring the correct equipment: exercise book, reading book, pens, pencil, ruler. Coloured pens, highlighters and a glue stick are also useful to have.
- Glue any handouts neatly in your exercise book, in an appropriate place.
- Read all feedback carefully and respond as directed.
