How To Revise

  1. Be realistic. There is a limit to how much you can remember. Be selective.
  2. Read through your summaries of each part of the play and make a chronological list of significant moments, events, or encounters involving Hero.
  3. Review the tables of quotations below. Make your own shorter list of quotations that exemplify the character arc you have just described. Make sure you draw inspiration from both the Said By Hero and Pertaining To Hero sections.
  4. Make sure you can answer all the questions in the Check Your Knowledge section. Make a list of additional quotations that would make your answers convincing.
  5. Create a “character arc” infographic or mind-map, similar to the examples at the bottom of this page. Augment each quotation with two or three adjectives that you could use when writing an essay. </aside>

  3. In your own words, describe Hero’s role in Beatrice’s “gulling” and how an audience might feel about this.
  4. In your own words, describe Hero’s response to Claudio’s accusations and how an audience might feel at this point in the play.
